Debra Matwychuk is inspired by the great iconic photographers of the world, as well as the instructors and mentors she has had the fortune to meet. She is driven by the idea that an image is a permanent recording of the space between that which something will become and that which will never be quite the same again.
Heighten Awareness
Born out of one man’s journey into the world of a kidney failure diagnoses, our goal is to heighten awareness for thousands of Canadians waiting for kidney transplants.
Our Approach
By documenting persons in need and the heroes who selflessly volunteer to help, these candid portraits reflect all that it is to be human: to come to terms with our own mortality and to find strength and courage in the face of it, to respect and appreciate our bodies, and to practice the highest form of altruism.
